The sand is as fine as dust and the wind is completely still; prints made months ago still appear recent. The desert is as ageless and impermeable as the sea. There appears to be very little life here.

The crater is now filled with trees and tall grasses. At the very center lies a clear and lifeless stillwater lake, once known as the rebecca. Seldom does one see fish in the rebecca, probably due to it's depth; the entire expanse of the lake is shallow enough to wade through. The water is safe to drink, but considered alternately lucky or unlucky.

Not many last long in the high reaches of the Dog, where the temperature seldom rises above freezing, the snow is thick, and the crags are stalked by mountain cats. There is little to be said for the region.

La Teal's sides are riddled with caves; at nighttime, the bats come out in swarms. Although there have been rumors of blood suckers amongst the bats, the majority of them are harmless insect eaters. The land is rough but the air is fresh, and when venturing down the mountainside, there is an abundance of both flora and fauna. Mountain goats are seen here occasionally.

All that grows here is tall grass; to come across a tree is said to bring a curse upon the discoverer. Water is sparse here, and rain comes seldom, but the area is prone to vicious winds and terrifying storms. Flash floods are a constant threat come spring. Not heavily populated; one can wander for days without meeting a soul. A lonely, desolate place. Popular traveling ground for those with broken souls.
